At PMRIMS Hospital, the Department of Orthopaedics is committed to providing world-class care through
a team of highly skilled and internationally trained specialists. With extensive experience in their
respective fields, the faculty performs advanced surgical procedures, including minimally invasive spine
surgery, keyhole surgery, endoscopic techniques, and daycare surgeries, all aimed at ensuring faster
recovery and superior patient outcomes.
The department is equipped with a state-of-the-art operating theatre and a dedicated pain management
team focused on delivering comfort and promoting pain-free postoperative recovery. Around-the-clock
nursing care is provided, with holistic patient well-being as a priority. Future plans include establishing a
specialized trauma center offering 24-hour emergency services, a dedicated sports injury unit, and
advanced surgical procedures such as Joint Replacement Surgeries regularly including Knee and Hip.
With 90 beds, the department includes two dressing rooms for wound care and bandaging, a seminar
room for academic activities, a minor OT for emergency and minor procedures, and a fully equipped
physiotherapy unit for post-treatment rehabilitation.
The academic and training infrastructure is designed to support both undergraduate and postgraduate
education. The department features a modern seminar hall with advanced audiovisual aids and a
well-stocked library. A postgraduate course in orthopaedics is offered, with an annual intake of 9 students,
centered on a structured and innovative approach to teaching and assessment.

  • Four consultation rooms, a plaster room, two dressing rooms, a plaster removal room, a record
    room, and a spacious patient waiting area.
  • Advanced procedures including total hip and knee arthroplasty, and knee, hip, and shoulder
    arthroscopy.
  • Specialized techniques such as external fixation, limb reconstruction using the Ilizarov method, and
    A.O. spine reconstruction surgery.
  • A portable X-ray machine for immediate on-site imaging.
    Faculty members have received specialized fellowship training in joint replacement, arthroscopy, pediatric
    orthopaedics, and spine microsurgery, ensuring comprehensive care for all patients. The department is
    committed to training orthopaedic surgeons who make evidence-based, patient-centered decisions, with a
    strong emphasis on teamwork, collaboration, and ongoing research to drive continuous advancements in
    orthopaedic care.
